128/08          MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON WEDNESDAY 26 MARCH 2008

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Wednesday 26 MARCH 2008 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.

 

129/08          MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES

Cllr Gray reported that he had received £285.00 in sponsorship for floral decorations.

130/08          EXCLUSIONS

There were no items to be taken in exclusion.

 

131/08          VILLAGE HALL UPDATE

 

The Chair informed the meeting that the WREN application that had been submitted has been withdrawn and will be resubmitted in July 2008. Money received has to spent within 2 years.

Advice is being sought from HMRevenue regarding VAT, as the village hall committee may not be able to claim vat, however the Parish Council would be able to, this may mean that the Parish Council take over the lease.  All money would come to the Parish Council and be paid out by the Parish Council (appeal fund).

 

131/08          GRANT APPLICATION

 

A letter has been received from the Francis Staley Medical Trust, a charity that supports the elderly within the village.

 

RESOLVED:

 

To grant £100

 

132/08          BURIAL GROUND

The fees charged within the burial ground for burials and memorial stones were discussed and it was

RESOLVED:

 

That Burials would be charged at £150 with an additional £20 for placement of the skip. 

That Memorial Stones would be charged at £30.00

 

That the clerk would gain a quotation for the installation of a further headstone strip.

08/00260/VCOND  Retention of development (change of use to business and/or storage use) without compliance with Conditions 3,9,10,11,12 and 13 of planning permission 07/00192/FUL at Scholes Mill, Old Coach Road, Tansley – no objections

08/00291/FUL Erection of conservatory at Snowdrop Cottage Green Lane, Tansley – no objections

 

134/08          IN BLOOM

134.08.1          East Midlands In Bloom Entry

The competition has been entered, judging is expected to take place first or second week in July.

134.08.2          Tansley In Bloom competition

Again, Cllr Taylor is organising this and the judging needs to take place earlier than last year.  The forms will be circulated around the village nearer the time.

As mentioned earlier the sponsorship money received should help to make the village more attractive.  Cllr Flitter indicated that he may be able to sponsor large planter from the community fund.

Circular 14/2008 Crime & Disorder Act 1998 needs to be noted with regards the activities of the council, although these decisions could be overthrown by the regulatory authorities.
