Cemetery Path

Cllrs Taylor and R Whitworth had met with a representative of the church to discuss the consultation on the works for the cemetery path, ie. steps and the gradient of the slope.  The church will place a  notice in the church to notify of the impending works.  The work is to be carried out to enable the disabled and infirm to have better access to the burial ground and cemetery.  Cllr Taylor  had completed the specification, which would go out this week, with a return date of 14 March and an anticipated start date soon after that.

Gulley Emptying

A plan has been received from DDDC which show that there are 115 gullies within the parish, it is actually more like 160, although the contractors emptied 30 on their last visit.  They need more time to carry out the work properly.

RESOLVED:

To write to DDDC regarding gulley emptying and street sweeping.

Consultation on the New Housing Strategy

A questionnaire document had been received from DDDC, without a covering letter or completion instructions, the document in itself is welcomed as there are a lot of villages within DD that recognise that there is a need for housing for local people.

RESOLVED:

That the clerk gains more information and circulate this to the Councillors so that the questionnaire can be completed for 18 March

Landholdings Review – The Pinfold

A letter had been received from DDDC that wanted to offer The Pinfold to the Parish Council, The Pinfold has been rented to a nearby resident for the last few years.

RESOLVED:

To write to DDDC and say that they can still rent the land out with the proviso that there is a plaque on the outside of the land that states what it is and who it belongs to.  Include within the letter that there are other pieces of land within the Parish which may well also belong to the Parish Council and that the Parish Council would wish to discuss this with DDDC.

In Bloom competition

A discussion was held with regards to the hanging baskets, which are scattered around the village, and it would be better to review the displays to a better effect. There are some members of the Garden Club who would like to become involved.

To have one good show around the village green.
