Following the public meeting that had been attended by 40/50 residents, the Architects, DDDC Planning Officer and a representative of the developer; numerous views had been put forward, and representatives listened to.  The Parish Council urged villagers to put their own views in writing to the planning authority.

RESOLVED:

To object to both applications as follows:

·         the volume of traffic that will be using a substandard road for the main access that is not of a high enough standard to be adopted

·         there should be proper pedestrian links to Matlock, again this is unlikely on a road network of this nature

·         a cycle route should have been included, this may not be possible on this standard of road

·         affordable housing is not included within the plans – this goes directly against Derbyshire Dales District Council policy, and Tansley Parish Council campaigns for this with any planning applications that have several dwellings within them.

Putting all of the above aside the Parish Council would have really liked to support a project of this nature on the Tansley Wood Mill site, and were very impressed with the mixture of old and new development.
