The Minutes of the Meeting held on Monday 14 February 2005 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.

105/05 CHAIRMAN’S REPORT
Footpaths in the village
The Probation Service has started work on the path down The Knoll to the Scout Hut, although there had been problems with the workers actually finding the location, so not a lot of work had been done, but a start has been made.
Opening of Tenders for Cemetery Path
Four tenders had been sent out and three received back, theses were opened as follows:_
R G Millward 1,480
G F Fox 2,232.50
Johnson Surfacing 3,331,13
RESOLVED:
To accept the lowest tender but and enhance the specification.
The clerk would notify G F Fox and Johnson Surfacing of this decision and Cllr Taylor would contact Millwards to inform them of the result and also regards to the enhanced specification required.
The clerk would notify a representative of the church that work will soon be carried out and that they would need to post notices in the church informing users of that, after gaining permission to do so.
East Midlands in Bloom Seminar
There had been an informal workshop on 17 February which the clerk had attended giving useful information about the involvement of the competition.
A letter had been sent to DDDC about the sweeping and the gulley emptying within the parish, as there does not seem to be enough resources allocated to the task to complete the job.
Sweeping did take place one day last week, but again, this is not enough to complete the job. Cllr Flitter reported that there was ‘in village’ gulley plan and an ‘out village’ plan, this would appear to be where some confusion is arising.
As yet, we are still awaiting a reply from DDDC.
Review of Fees and Charges Burial Ground
It is more than one year since the charges were reviewed, the clerk had received charges from a couple of other authorities and The Church of England fees, Tansley are quite a bit lower then these.
The charges are now to be:
Parishioners £150.00
Outside of the parish but
With associations £300.00
Headstone £ 40.00
Stone Tablet £ 40.00
There has been a lot of bad publicity with the laying of headstones, although the churchyard is the jurisdiction of DDDC.
106/05 FETE FIELD PROGRESS
The Parish Council has not signed the contact, although the builder has yet to sign. The work should commence in a matter of days, the immediate neighbours to the works had all received an informative letter, last weekend.
The National Playing Fields Association representative is to come on Monday 21 March to review the state of the field.
Longcliffe Quarries have donated 3 x 30 tonnes of stone.
The cutting of the ‘first sod’ is to take place on Sunday 20 March at 12.30pm.
There were some concerns from residents, regarding commencement of works, hours of work, possible damage to their property, damage to the lane and subsequent utilities.
This had all been discussed at the first meeting of the Architect, Builder and Parish Council representatives, and all fears have been allayed.
