MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING OF TANSLEY PARISH COUNCIL ON MONDAY 8 MAY 2006

 1/07           APOLOGIES

Cllrs R Bourne, S Greenhough, B Taylor

 2/07           ELECTION OF CHAIR 2006/07

There was no one willing to take on the role of chair for the forthcoming year. 

Cllr Whitworth took the chair for the meeting.

 

RESOLVED:

That the clerk would approach Cllr Taylor to consider this role.

 

3/07                     ELECTION OF VICE CHAIR 2006/07

Cllr John Spink said that he would continue in this role, but was not happy that there was not a chairman.

 

4/07           CHAIR/VICE CHAIR ACCEPTANCE OF OFFICE

Cllr Spink signed the acceptance of office for the forthcoming year.

 

5/07           SIGNATORIES FOR CHEQUES

RESOLVED:

To remain as at present, Cllrs Johnson, Spink and R Whitworth

 

6/07           TIME/DAY/DATE OF MEETING

RESOLVED:

To remain as the 2nd Monday of the month at 7.30pm, no meeting in August.

 

7/07           DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST

Cllr N Whitworth declared an interest in item 13, letter regarding the merger of Derbyshire police.  Cllr K Gray declared an interest in item 15, chair exercise group application for grant.

 

8/07        MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 24 APRIL 2006

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Monday 24 April 2006 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.

 

9/07        MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES

There were no matters arising.

10/07        EXCLUSIONS

 There were no items to be taken in exclusion.

 

11/07          CHAIRMAN’S REPORT     

 

Cllr Whitworth sought the meeting’s permission to give him delegated powers to allow him to finish the Fete Field & Pavilion scheme on behalf of the village including making provision for the future management.

The official opening of the fete field and pavilion is to take place on Saturday 17 June at the Carnival.  The invitations need to go out for this and final arrangements made for a ceremony.

The building is nearly finished and now needs furnishing.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That Cllr Whitworth along with the clerk be given delegated powers to finish the project.

 

VANDALISM

 

There has been quite a problem with vandals in the village recently, they have tipped over the grit boxes, there have been problems with the lighting at the pavilion, stone walls have been destroyed.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That Cllr Whitworth contact the community police about these and other ongoing problems.

06/00275/out Erection of storage building (outline) at Sunnyside Farm, Whitelea Lane Tansley – Object as follows:-

1.     There is no scope for visibility splays onto Whitelea Lane making access/egress dangerous

2.     increased volume of traffic created on country lanes or within the village, creating an additional danger to people,children at the post office where the buses turn round

3.     the visual impact on the rural landscape

4.     the site is entirely inappropriate for any industrial development, there is plenty of availability within established industrial sites within the village ie. Brookfield/Drabbles Mill

5.     There will be environmental noise impact

6.     The extra industrial development could lead to light pollution

13/07           CORRESPONDENCE was received

RESOLVED:

To write to MP regarding the police merger as the parish council is unlikely to be supportive of the government’s proposals although correspondence has not yet been seen.

15/07          APPLICATION FOR GRANT

An application had been received from the Chair Exercise Group, which provides exercise classes for the less active.

RESOLVED:

To award a grant of £100.
