MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF TANSLEY PARISH COUNCIL ON TUESDAY 27 NOVEMBER 2007

67/08 MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON TUESDAY 23 OCTOBER 2007
The Minutes of the Meeting held on Tuesday 23 October 2007 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.
68/08 MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES
There were no matters arising.
69/08 EXCLUSIONS
There were no items to be taken in exclusion.
70/08 FETE FIELD
Claim 13 still has to be paid by Fields in Trust. The door and ramp have still to be attended to by the builder.
71/08 VILLAGE PLAN
There was a discussion about the village plan, and it was
RESOLVED:
That the chair would see that the village plan is condensed to action points when this has been done it can be circulated throughout the village.
72/08 TANSLEY BURIAL GROUND
An acknowledgement letter has been received from DDDC regarding the Burial Ground.
73/08 ANNUAL RETURN FOR Y/E 31 MARCH 2007
The clerk had received the annual return from internal auditor for signing and return to Audit Commission.
The Chair was not happy about signing the return without more information, however the clerk and chair did sign the return.
74/08 DDDC – Grant for maintenance of playing fields
A letter has been received from DDDC saying that reimbursable expenditure for the maintenance of playing fields is limited to £733.
RESOLVED:
To make representation to DDDC that there will be more expenditure this year due to weedspraying and fertilising as well as mowing. Much of this work was carried out by the contract last year.
75/08 PRECEPT SETTING FOR 2008/09
The budgetary requirements were discussed for next year, and the Council were mindful of the need to keep the precept realistic for their aims.
RESOLVED:
That the precept be £13988, with reimbursable expenditure for burial grounds at £1000, playing fields at £1050.
76/08 GRANT APPLICATIONS
a. Derbyshire Childrens Centre – a letter had been received requesting aid for this centre
RESOLVED:
Not to award a grant at this stage
b. Holy Trinity Church – a letter had been received from Reg Whitworth who is raising funds for a sound system in the church, the school are using the church for their assemblies and are sometimes having difficulties. The system will cost in the region of £2500 and money is forthcoming from other sectors of the community ie. DCC.
RESOLVED:
To grant £250
77/08 STANDARDS BOARD FOR ENGLAND
a) Adoption of The Code of Conduct
RESOLVED:
That the Council adopt the Code of Conduct
b) Paragraph 12(2)
The Parish Council have to make a decision to adopt or not to adopt the above paragraph of the Code, by adopting this it allows Councillors to speak to an item and then leave the meeting so that a decision can be made.

To adopt paragraph 12(2)
