RESOLVED:

To comment that the proposed path is in the wrong place it is too high, and that this path should be a higher priority, as it would be well used.

60/08        TANSLEY BURIAL GROUND

Recently there had been a request for a burial in the burial ground, there were ties with the village, but very loose, the relatives had continually rung the clerk, been to the chairman’s house and thoroughly made a nuisance of themselves.  To enable things to be much easier the Parish Council needs to know where they stand with regards to refusal.  Bearing in mind that the spaces are running out in the burial ground, and new sites need to be explored.

A letter has also been received from Mrs Kirk regarding the headstone wording, requesting that it be removed at the council’s expense to have further wording put on.

RESOLVED:

That the clerk write to DDDC solicitor to double check on what we can and can’t do and also regards to an inflated fee, if we are not allowed to refuse.  This inflated fee would then be put towards further land purchase.

To write to Mrs Kirk and say that she can have the extra wording put on but the council will not pay.
