Aiming for Gold in East Midlands in Bloom ... and more!

The village from Thatchers Lane

A meeting was held at a resident's home in November 2009 to hear suggestions from Jeff Bates, a Britain in Bloom and East Midlands in Bloom judge, as to how Tansley could improve on its 2009 Silver Award in the EMIB competition. As a consequence, a working group was formed - now called Pride In Tansley.

Although at an early stage, Pride In Tansley has many prioritised ideas (see document 1 below) of what we can do, as a community, to improve our village's environment, not just for the EMIB competition but for all of us to enjoy every day!

Pride in Tansley would like several more enthusiastic and active members to join and to come up with more ideas to improve the village, especially its street scene, and to drive these improvements forward. We also need keen volunteers for practical tasks.

To get in touch, please send an email.

We can all help every day, simply by picking up litter rather than walking past it, taking a carrier bag out on local walks to hold any rubbish we pick up and making sure that our dogs are community minded too! It would be great if everyone took special care of the pavement, path or area outside their homes.

Pride in Tansley's next meeting will be in the autumn
