It seems that Tansley Wood Mills in Lumsdale Road, Tansley had this wooden panel made and displayed in its office to honour those men who worked there who had enlisted in the armed services to fight in World War One. Seven of these men died in service and are honoured at the bottom of the panel. When the Mill closed down, the panel was given to Tansley Village Hall for safe-keeping.
