Tansley Wood Mill (E.H.Drabble), Lower Lumsdale. (Photograph kindly lent by Peter Drabble)

The original tall 3-storey stone buildings, built around 1790 by E. Radford Esq, squire of Tansley, can be seen backing onto the road. The original dam used to supply water power is situated higher up the road, beyond 3 trees at right angles to the road. To the right of the main dam are two smaller ponds. Before it closed in 2000, the smaller buildings were let as industrial units. The site is now going to be redeveloped and the mill converted to residential units. See the planning application.
