The weather was great after the frost and snow of previous weeks, I think everyone was glad to be going out and socialising again.  We had a mystery drive around the north east of the county and ended up at Dobbies Garden Centre at Barlborough where we had tea and lovely cakes.  TANSLEY TUESDAY CLUB ARCHIVE 2010 Click here to return to main Tuesday Club Page TUESDAY CLUB MEMBERS MAKE EASTER BONNETS "some fantastic creations" Photos by Stuart Fletcher             Marjorie Ramwell reports that Tansley Tuesday Club members had a great time at their meeting on 30th March 2010. Marjorie says:   "We had a really lovely afternoon yesterday. Thirty of our members made an Easter bonnet -  there were some fantastic creations - and Stuart Fletcher came along to judge the competition.   The prize winners were:   1st   Mrs Gratton 2nd  Mrs Harrison 3rd   Mrs Smith   but (thanks to Stuart) everyone ended up with a Cadbury creme egg!   The children in the top class at Tansley school also came along to sing a selection of second world war songs, and most of the children were dressed in clothes of that era. This, as you can imagine, went down very well with the members of the club. Everyone agreed it was a most enjoyable afternoon." TUESDAY CLUB MEMBERS ENJOY GREAT HOLIDAY IN BOURNEMOUTH Tuesday Club chairman Marjorie Ramwell says that club members had a lovely holiday at the Collingwood Hotel in Bournemouth last week. Thirty-five club members went on the trip. Marjorie says: "The weather was good for the time of the year - it rained on just two mornings but we didn't get wet as we were entertained in the hotel with bingo and quizzes. The food was excellent, and the evening entertainment was good. We enjoyed an outing to Winchester and a tour of the villages in the New Forest. This was the 25th holiday we have organised for the club and we all had a super time. Ian Johnson, our coach driver, was most helpfu,l as always." photograph from www.bournemouthtourism.com 16th November 2010 TUESDAY CLUB ANNUAL CREAM TEA AFTERNOON RAISES £410 Tansley Tuesday Club chairman Marjorie Ramwell informs us that this year's cream tea afternoon in the Village Hall was very successful, raising £410 for club funds.    Marjorie says: "It was lovely to see so many people there and especially pleasing to welcome quite a lot of non-members....Thanks to all who contributed in any way in making the afternoon very enjoyable." All the money raised will help to finance the club i.e payment of speakers, hire of the hall, subsidising the Christmas festivities. 2010  Congratulations to Marjorie & Peter on their Golden Wedding Anniversary! What happened to Tansley Tuesday Club members on their mystery outing on 16th March 2010? Marjorie Ramwell, Tuesday Club lynchpin, says: "What a glorious day we had yesterday, non stop sunshine, for our mystery drive which took us through Chatsworth Park and up to Surprise View and then on to the reservoirs at Bamford where we had a short stay. We then wended our way back and ended at Tansley Village Hall where a surprise afternoon tea was waiting, courtesy of myself and Peter to celebrate our Golden Wedding, it was a lovely afternoon which everyone enjoyed."
