 99/07           APOLOGIES

Cllrs R Bourne, S Greenhough, N Whitworth,

The Chairman suspended standing orders to allow the police to address the meeting.

The police were present due to the recent spate of burglaries over the last two weekends.  All the police can do is speak to local people to try and gain information.   The chairman asked the police if there was any kind of surveillance either overt or covert that could be used, or if the safety partnership could help.

In the meantime the police would visit the village and drop leaflets encouraging people to be more careful and vigilant, although there are only 4 police and 3 special constables for the whole area.

A neighbourhood watch meeting has been set up at The Gate at 7.30 on 14 December 2006.
