MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING OF TANSLEY PARISH COUNCIL ON MONDAY 12 FEBRUARY 2007

128/07        MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON MONDAY 15 JANUARY  2007

The Minutes of the Meeting held on Monday 14 January 2007 were approved and signed as a true and accurate record.

 

129/07        MATTERS ARISING FROM PREVIOUS MINUTES

121/07 Neighbourhood Watch – there had been a successful meeting, with 40 in attendance, the police are to register this as a scheme, 30+ are prepared to be co-ordinators.  Cllr R Whitworth would make up a plan for the whole village.

130/07        EXCLUSIONS

There were no items to be taken in exclusion.

 

131/07      CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

 

Fete Field

 

Cllrs Whitworth and Johnson had attended the meeting of the Fete Field Trust, which had been rather disappointing, the intention of the Parish Council was to hand over the management of the Fete Field to a Trust, as Trusts’ can get rate relief and other funding.  The Fete Field Trust accepted about ¾ of the agreement but objected to some of it.

 

The Trust also request that legal action is taken to get the Fete Field draining properly.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Parish Council contact Robinsons Solicitors to draw up a management agreement, this would cost in the region of £500.

That the National Playing Fields Association is contacted to get the drainage situation sorted out.

 

Local Needs Housing

A letter has been received from Derbyshire Rural Community Council regarding the above. In 2001 a DDDC survey has highlighted the need for 33 houses, although the school roll has dropped from 128 to 68.

It was agreed previously that West Yard be developed as the only site in the village, the Parish Council need to try and persuade the planners to accept the scheme for West Yard.

 

RESOLVED:

 

To write to DRCC requesting their help as long as constructive, the people need identifying who have moved away from the village and would like to move back.

That Cllr R Whitworth attends a meeting at DDDC with Barncroft Homes to put forward the positive views of the Parish Council.

 

132/07      WHITWORTH HOSPITAL CLOSURE OF MATERNITY UNIT

 

RESOLVED:

 

To write to NHS Trust to support the maternity unit remaining open.

 

133/07      CALOR VILLAGE OF THE YEAR COMPETITION

After last year’s initial entry it was

134/07      EAST MIDLANDS IN BLOOM COMPETITION

 

RESOLVED:

 

To enter as usual, and try to get the school to enter the painting competition.

 

135/07      FRANCES STALEY RELIGIOUS TRUST

A request for  a grant to help produce the village ‘LINK’.

 

RESOLVED:

 

To award £150.

 

136/07 DCC PEDESTRIANISED PLATEAU – SPOUT LANE

A letter had been received from DCC saying that the above scheme would not now go ahead due to higher than anticipated cost.

 

RESOLVED:

 

To write and ask for a more modest scheme to be put in due to safety.

137/07      DDDC – DERBYSHIRE DALES LOCAL DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK – CORE STRATEGY SETTLEMENT SUSTAINABILITY – EVIDENCE GATHERING ON THE CHARACTERISTIC’S OF THE DISTRICT’S SETTLEMENTS.

 

A form had been issued which asked, how many pubs, shops, doctors etc there are in the village, the clerk and chairman had filled in and submitted, but would wish that the village retain it rural characteristics.
